Latest News01/06/09 - Continuing Progress Work on StressFracture has resumed - a new developer has joined the project, beginning his assistance by adding much-needed project and build files for Visual C++, allowing easy development on Windows. The code has been moved to the SourceForge Subversion repository from CVS. The networking code is receiving attention, with bullets now syncing across clients. New developers and artists are welcome - contact us through SourceForge if you are interested in helping out! 05/26/07 - Good News for Windows It has been almost a month since the last news from StressFracture, but sometimes, no news can be good news. In this case, the good news is that StressFracture has been successfully compiled to run on Windows by cross-compiling it on Linux with MinGW. That means that Windows users will soon (next few weeks) be able to download and run StressFracture on their computers. No native way of compiling the game's code on Windows exists yet, but at least the binaries will soon be available. Recently, basic drawing of weaponry and a firing sound were added. Next will be hit detection and syncing of firing over the network. Also, the main part of the game (soon, the server will follow) can now be compiled and run successfully on Linux. Eventually, Windows support and a makefile for that OS will be added. 04/07/07 - Walls and Collisions Recent changes to the code have allowed the loading and drawing of walls as well as detection of players colliding with those walls. This allows the creation of basic maps. [Screenshot]
